It depends where they are in the process. During jury selection, there is an opportunity to interview the jury pool. The questions can be personal, but should have some relationship to the case and the ability to serve. Once the trial has started, there should not be individual conversations with jurors.
More people than are needed are called for Jury Duty then the lawyers choose the most suitable for the case to arrive at the twelve necessary.

In a democratic country a jury is chosen at random.

thats funny, noone has answer why people don't have a right to a trial of a jury of their peers. And those peers are empowered to decide.
the group of people that decides a case after hearing the evidence is called the jury. the jury ovehrear what goes on in a court and then they determine who is guilty (if any) and who is innocent. also, the jury are elected by the laywers. 6 people get chosen from one laywer and 6 get chosen from the other. hoped i helped :3
