Red, 5 year, HOAT type
Best thing to do is use the all models safe coolant, it covers all the bases
Green up till the 2001. Red after 2002.
Red, 5 year, HOAT type
Water alone is not used as coolant for automobiles.
Radiator drain plug. Located at the bottom or lower side of the radiator used to drain coolant from the radiator.
Radiator-- for storing and removing heat from the coolant. Pump-- used to circulate coolant throughout the engine and back to the radiator for cooling. Fan, either electric or mechanical -- used to draw air through the radiator thus removing heat. Thermostat--Used to keep the coolant at a set temperature. Radiator pressure cap--Used to keep the pressure at a set amount in the system. Hoses uses to transfer coolant from the radiator to the engine and back. Recovery tank--Used to catch any coolant that may overflow.

Best thing to do is but the universal coolant, it can be used in all vehicles.
jeep didnt make a wrangler in 1996. you may have a late model 1995, or if it has round headlights you have a 1997 tj. They used green coolant in the 1990's
No. Transmission fluid lubricates the transmission. Coolant is used by the radiator to cool the engine.
The Libery comes factory filled with an ethylene glycol based engine coolant with long life corrosion inhibitors (called HOAT, for Hybrid Organic Additive Technology). Replace the antifreeze/coolant, 5 year/100,000 mile formula.
I assume you are refering to the radiator overflow bottle. The required coolant is red 5 year antifreeze(not dexcool).
