Deuteronomy 23:2 means that the descendants of a child born of a jewish father and a heathen mother could not hold any position of authority in Israel until the 10th generation.
Deu 23:2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; evento his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.
This 10th generation limit is exclusive and NOTinclusive: that is, the first 9 generations could not hold any position of authority BUT the 10th could.
