It likes costal clear waters, the jellyfish is shaped as any jellyfish would be, like a dome, and moves to create a current to capture food, and its tentacles are arm-like and are very thick. The average size of a white spotted jellyfish is around45-50 cm in diameter but there had been a maximum reported size of 62 cm. However, in October 2007, one 72 cm. wide, perhaps the largest ever recorded, was found on Sunset Beach, NC. White spotted jellyfish also have a mild sting, but are not considered a threat to humans.
