A dust storm
As there is no air out there they have to wear these preassigned suits to adjust to weightlessness and when they return the sudden change will cause problems.
The density of the gases in space is so low that we would not term them "air". As you increase in altitude from Sea Level the density of air gradually decreases right up until you reach space. There is no point where there is a sudden change so that someone can say that air has stopped and space has begun. Quite simply, the upper reaches of the atmosphere have been defined by picking an altitude. Below that altitude is "air"; above it is "space".
If it were dense enough, It would make the temperatures less extreme. For instance, nights would be warmer and days cooler. Also, there would not be a sudden drop of temperature from a sunlight area to a shadow area.
Air pressure falls of as one gains altitude. At high altitude the air pressure is very low but it does not "falls drastically", which implies a sudden change.

yes, otherwise they would die either to force of leaving the earths gravity or due to the sudden change of atmosphere.

People start burning fossil fuel. This releases greenhouse gases that build up in the atmosphere. This traps more heat and causes global warming. The warming adds extra energy into the atmosphere causing climate change.
