well as i know every ship should have enough lifeboats for every passenger on the ship, but the titanic did no so not all the passengers were saved. thanks for reading this****
There were 712 survivors in Titanic's lifeboats.
The Titanic was a tragedy in that there were twenty lifeboats that went down only half full of passengers. Those twenty lifeboats were only enough to hold half again of the total occupation of the entire ship. Today's ships must have enough lifeboats to carry each and every person riding the ship.
On the Titanic they were tested for the weight of 70 adult men. However, even at full capacity there would not have been enough room for every person aboard. Maritime law has changed since then and there must be enough room on lifeboats for every living soul aboard a ship.
Yes. This rule was actually put into place after the horrors of the Titanic. All ships must have enough lifeboats for everyone on board. Yes my girlfriend thought after titanic 3D that we should tell new ship companies that they must get enough lifeboats. She works for the prison service, so she is comfy with things that have not changed in 100 years. xx Every boat must cater for all, in the event of lifeboats deployed.
That EVERY ocean liner had to have enough lifeboats for everyone on board and there had to be a 24/7 wireless on every ship.
Shipping laws at the time did not require that there be enough lifeboats for everyone on board. The laws were based on tonnage, not capacity, so every ship longer or shorter than a certain number of feet had to have a certain number of lifeboats. The plans originally called for around 32 lifeboats, but Bruce Ismay, among others, made the decision to cut the number down to 20, as the boat deck was becoming "too crowded." The original number of lifeboats would have held around 1,900 people. However, even after cutting the number of boats down to 20, the Titanic still exceeded the number of lifeboats required by law--16 would have been the minimum. It is important to note that lifeboats were neither designed nor intended to sail on the open ocean. For past rescues, another ship would arrive in time and anchor across from the ship in distress, and the lifeboats would be used to ferry passengers over to the rescue ship. The empty lifeboats would then be taken back to the sinking vessel, and the process would be repeated. This would have made extra lifeboats unnecessary. Had there been any available ships nearby, this is the way the Titanic rescue would have proceeded. Unfortunately, since no one was around to hear the calls for help (and the ones that could have did not have their radios turned on), the lifeboats had to become independently sailing vessels.
The Titanic carried 20 lifeboats enough for 1178people.They were legally required to carry enough lifeboats to carry 1060 people. The boat was designed to be able to carry 32 lifeboats, but did not as it would have made the top deck too cluttered. So all in all the Titanic carried the correct amount of lifeboats. To save every person on the ship there would have had to be, 40 lifeboats.
of course every thing needs a specific size
For every action (force) there is and equal and opposite reaction (force). When fuel is burned in a rocket or jet, the hot expanding gases leave the rear of the engine. The opposite is the force pushing the rocket itself forward.
There was enough room in the lifeboats for all the women and children on board. The total number of women and children was 170 while the lifeboats could carry 180 people.
Because there weren't enough lifeboats on the ship to hold every single person on board, and the lifeboats werent even filled to full capacity, all made to hold 60 men but some were only filled with 12 people.
