The Allegeny River is the one that flows into the Ohio River, as does the Monongahela River. They meet at The Point in Pittsburgh PA, referred to as Three Rivers area.
The Ohio River forms the southern boundaries of Ohio and Indiana. It begins at the Ohio-Pennsylvania border. It flows southwesterly between Ohio and Kentucky, Indiana and Kentucky, and continues to the Mississippi River.

The river is formed by the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers at Point State Park (called the "Point") in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It joins the Mississippi River at Cairo, Illinois. The native Americans considered the Monongahela to be the same as the Ohio and the Allegheny as a branch.
