Tiber
The Apennines.
Sicily is the island at the toe of Italy.
The Apennine mountains in Italy run from the north west of Italy, near Genoa, to Calabria in the south. They are more or less in the middle of the country, dividing east from west, and are about 1500 kilometres long.

The boot of Italy is Italy it's self. The call it that because of it's boot shaped territory. If you look it up on a globe Italy looks like a high heel boot.

Italy is a primarily mountainous country. The Alps form an arch which runs along most of its borders (with France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia). The Apennines is a mountain chain which starts from the Italy-France border and runs along the Ligurian (northwestern) coast, and through the length of the peninsula and continues all along Calabria (the toe of Italy). In the north there is a massive plain between the Alps and the Apennines which runs from near Turin to Venice. Apulia, (the heel of Italy) is a large pain area. Other plains are on the coastal part of Campania (the region whose capital is Naples) Lazio and Tuscany.
