An artificial boundary is a boundary made by humans, examples include dams, the fence at the border between the U.S and Mexico. A natural boundary is a boundary made by nature, a boundary that "happens" naturally, examples include rivers, mountains and such.
A natural boundary is a separation of land made naturally, such as the Himalayas separating the Indian subcontinent from the rest of Asia. A political boundary is a land made separation of land, such as the United States-Mexico border.
A natural boundary is often times a body of water such as a river. Between the US and Mexico, part of the boundary between these two countries is the Rio Grand River. A political boundary is one created by a treaty or some type of political agreement between two countries. For example, the Dominican Republic and Haiti are on the same island. The boundary between them is a political one established when France ruled Haiti and Spain ruled the Dominican Republic.
The Rio Grande River, defining 3,141 Kilometers (1,952 miles) of the border.
The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo settled the boundary dispute between the United States and Mexico.
The border
The Rio Grande River (Rio Bravo as known in Mexico) forms a natural boundary between the southwestern United States and Mexico; however it is not a waterway as the river is not navigable.
Most of the Mexico-Belize border is defined by the Hondo River (Spanish: Rio Hondo). There is however, a Rio Hondo located in the US State of New Mexico, but it doesn't define any boundary with the country of Mexico.
