dirty harry
Clint Eastwood actually it's a subjective question. Some would pick John Wayne.
a fistful of dollars
Eastwood, better tough guy and wasn't a drank dogger.
Spencer Tracy, John Wayne, Henry Fonda, Clint Eastwood.
Some look at Wayne's refusal of the Dirty Harry role a mistake or at least a missed opportunity. Wayne didn't see it that way. Although he thought the character was worth a look the language made him take a pass. He would not say the curse words that the script called for and the powers that be would not compromise. A stroke of luck for Clint Eastwood, but I doubt Wayne had any regrets.
No. He did work with Shirley MacLaine in "Two Mules for Sister Sara" (1970).
If they were I have never seen it. Eastwood would have liked to work with Wayne (who didn't?) but Wayne was of a different opinion. He really didn't care much for Eastwood's movies and had no desire to share the screen with him.
The role of Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan.
The cast of Eastwood on Eastwood - 1997 includes: John Cusack as Narrator Clint Eastwood as himself
He was. The role of Dirty Harry was first offered to Wayne but due to the language in the script he refused it. By default Clint Eastwood became Dirty Harry.
I had heard he was the first choice for Dirty Harry, I don`t know if the others you mention were offered it before Clint Eastwood got it.
Not positive, but I would almost have to say it would be Clint Eastwood due to the length of time acting and because he writes and directs as well
