A:The Book of Genesis, in both creation accounts, appears to make it clear that God was alone at creation. This changes with the Book of Proverbs, in which Lady Wisdom says that she was with God at the beginning of the world (Proverbs 8:22-34). The Greek philosophers, seeking to understand the role of the creator god, developed the concept of the Logos, which is usually translated into English as the Word. The Logos entered Christianity via Philo of Alexandria andJohn's Gospel uses "the Word" to mean Jesus, with Jesus present at creation. John does not acknowledge the presence of Wisdom, and some scholars believe that the author of John actually based this on the story of Wisdom. There is no suggestion in John that the Word created anything. Some modern Christians, however, do refer to Jesus as a creator, based on the concept of the Trinity, where he is the second person in one God.
