Not a lot now. The SAS were previously responsible in Afghanistan for conducting "hit and run" raids on Taliban compounds as well as providing reconnaissance and information gathering expertise on the ground.

That role however has now been passed on to the SBS (Special Boat Service) as the SAS will now be heading back to the UK to provide security during the 2011 Olympics in London.
