They should first educate people living below poverty line about the ways and means to become self sufficient to arrange their livlihood instead of depending on begging. They should acquaint themselves with the various poverty alleviation programmes of the Government and help the poor people to avail of the benefits embedded therein. They can help them to avail micro finances from financial institutions to start cottage and small scale industries to stand on their own feet.Above all, they should act as liaison between various government bodies and these ill fated people struggling hard to come out of acute poverty.
