The International Boundary between Canada and the US runs through four of the five Great Lakes: Superior, Huron, Erie and Ontario. The lakes themselves do not act as a border.
In addition to four of the five Great Lakes, lakes through which the International Border runs include Lake of the Woods, Rainy Lake, Lake St Clair, and approximately 40 smaller lakes in the Quetico area.

Five Great Lakes exist in the US. They are Lake Superior, Michigan, Erie, Huron, and Ontario. Lake Michigan is the only one entirely within the United States; the border between the U.S. and Canada runs through the other four.

Canada does not touch four of the five states.Michigan does. =============================================================================== It is tradition to claim there are five Great Lakes, but in actual fact there are only four. What we call Lakes Michigan and Huron constitute, from a hydrological perspective, just one lake that contains two large lobes. As such, Canada and the US share the four Great Lakes.
The St.Lawrence river runs northeast from the Great Lakes oh and I know cuz I am a smart nerdy girl and no copying this cuz i will put a curse on you. :-) ok .
