discoid lupus comes to mind first but searches turn up folliculitus, yeast overgrowth as possible suspects then there is the ever popular "stress" good luck with that one. I have this condition for 20 years, and I finally found a cure for me. Try Proactiv Mask, Sulfur. Just dab it on the sores at night, then wash your hair in the morning. Mine have gone completely away, the first time in 20 years.
