We are not often sure of the exact dates on which certain plays were performed at the Globe, but, as it happens, we know that the play being performed at the Globe on June 29, 1613 was Henry VIII. We know this because during the play the roof of the theatre caught fire and it burned to the ground. Nobody was seriously hurt.

Not just the Globe Theatre but any theatre. I think its to do with acting being thought as a disreputable enterprise and not the kind of thing women should get involved in.
We know very little of the design of the Globe theatre, in fact no-one knows what the inside looked like at all. The inside of the modern Globe is copied from an illustration we have of the Swan theatre's stage and audience pit - this being the nearest thing we have to a contemporary illustration of an Elizabethan theatre.
The globe theatre was circular shaped, and there was no real reason for it being the shape it was, just a design, I think.. :D It did have a cut out roof though, to let the actors have more of an 'open air' performance.
