Because Albuquerque is a fairly large city, it's hard to cover every school within the few separate public school systems in and around the metro area, but in terms of college level University of New Mexico is the only major one. CNM is the local community college. Otherwise, Albuquerque Public Schools is a large, and decent system that will allow any dedicated student to succeed if they have desire. I believe that the are at least 14 public high schools within the ABQ city limits, and probably another 8 in our neighboring cities of Rio Rancho, Bernalillo, Edgewood, Los Lunas, Belen, and Tijeras.
APS high schools: Sandia, Manzano, La Cueva, Eldorado, Del Norte, Highland, Albuquerque High, Rio Grande, Volcano Vista, Valley, Cibola, West Mesa, and possibly one or two others.
Rio Rancho Public High Schools: Cleveland, Rio Rancho
Others: Bernalillo High, Los Lunas High, Belen High, East Mountain High, and possibly more.
1 university, 25 colleges, and 132 public schools.
Albuquerque Public Schools was created in 1891.
