In only certain areas that school has banned the novel. Since it consists of rape, and child abuse. I think it's fine for a high school to read the novel. Since I have read it and it is a very good book if I do say so myself. There are more reasons but I can't think of any more reasons. Also I think because of the morals and stuff.

Some schools that have banned the book "Flowers in the Attic" include schools in West Virginia, Ohio, Arizona, and California due to concerns about its content being inappropriate or too sexually explicit for young readers.
