John 17:16: "They are no part of the world, just as I [Jesus] am no part of the world." John 6:15: "Jesus, knowing they [the Jews] were about to come and seize him to make him king, withdrew again into the mountain all alone." Later, he told the Roman governor: "My kingdom is no part of this world. If my kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought that I should not be delivered up to the Jews. But, as it is, my kingdom is not from this source."-John 18:36. James 4:4: "Adulteresses, do you not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God." Why is the matter so serious? Because, as 1 John 5:19 says, "the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." At John 14:30, Jesus referred to Satan as being "the ruler of the world." So, no matter what worldly faction a person might support, under whose control would he really come? Man's rulerships in The Bible are referred to as a "disgusting thing." (Daniel 11:31; Matthew 24:15) For a time, in leau of anarchy, God allows them to exist, but this does not mean that he sanctions them. The Bible says that soon, God is going to personally do away with human rulership and His kingdom will rule the earth. (Daniel 2:44) Jehovah's Witnesses give our allegience to God's Kingdom and only to His Kingdom. That kingdom is ruled by His son, Jesus Christ, who is His appointed king, judge, and high priest. So, our one and only king is Jesus Christ. If you were a citizen of the U.K., would you vote in the United States elections? Of course not! We view our citizenship as belonging to God's kingdom, therefore why would we vote in the US elections, especially since the Bible indicates that soon all human rule will be gone? The Bible says that it 'does not belong to man to even direct his own step,' and it says that 'man has dominated man to his injury.' (Ecclesiastes 8:9; Jeremiah 10:23) In other words, according to the Bible, man is not qualified, nor does he have the right to lead himself. The proof of that is no further away than today's newspaper. They can't fix anything. If they solve one problem, they create five more in the process. We do not look to man's rulership for our solutions, so we do not support man's rulership. Our citizenship and allegience goes to God's rulership and that is, God's Kingodom with Jesus Christ as it's king.
