Where is an O2 sensor?

Oxygen sensors are mounted on/in the exhaust manifold or the headpipe just AFTER the exhaust manifold. There shouldn't be any other electrical connections into the exhaust system in that area so that narrows it down for you. Some vehicles have a SECOND oxygen sensor after the catalytic converter, but those seldom fail.

Where is the oxygen sensors located in a 2002 Nissan sentra 1.8l?

Catalytic converter I think The 02 Sentra doesn't have a "regular" catalytic converter, its an all in one manifold converter assembly. *There are 4, they are located in the exhaust manifold. On the 02 Sentra 1.8 there are two wiring harnesses that have blue plugs and two that have green. Those are the harnesses for the Oxygen sensors. Follow the harness down the manifold and that's where they are located.

Where are the sensors bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor 1 located on a 2003 ford expedition motor 4.6?

Those are the oxygen sensors in the exhaust above the catalytic converters.

What purpose does the manifold serve for an automobile?

On every vehicle there are two manifolds. An intake manifold and a exhaust manifold. The intake supplies fuel and air to the cylinders. The exhaust collects exhaust from those same cylinders.

Can a crack in a car manifold cause health problems?

if it is the exhaust manifold ,yes. if your breathing in those exhaust fumes you can get carbon monoxide poisoning

Where is the 02 sensor located on a 1995 Saturn sl2?

Follow the exhaust manifold down to where it connects to the headpipe. There, where all of the exhaust lines merge, you should see an electrical wire. It' connected to the front oxygen sensor. There may be an additional oxygen sensor AFTER the catalytic converter, but those seldom fail.

Is a exhaust manifold and a catalytic converter the same thing on a mini cooper car?

no. the exhaust manifold is just the tubes coming off block or heads. the catalytic converter should be a separate piece that connects to the exhaust manifold that burns the unburned fuel to keep it from releasing those fumes into the air.

Where is the oxygen sensor 1993 Lincoln Town Car?

Look around on the exhaust manifold for a screw type plug with a wire coming out. Check your codes to make sure that's what it is, those birds are expensive.

Where is the oxygen sensor located on 2005 Kia Amanti?

Your oxygen sensors are located directly under the motor. You have 2 exhaust pipes that merge into 1 and ultimately send exhaust out your tailpipe at the back of your car. If you look near the underside of your motor, before those exhaust pipes merge, you will find them sticking out from the pipe. You have one in each pipe near what's called the manifold. To change them you will have to disconnect the wire end from it's connector and unscrew the other end from the exhaust pipe. This is a fairly easy replacement install. A couple words of wisdom. Do this install when the engine is cold otherwise everything is hot hot hot to the touch. The connector ends that the sensor plugs into can become brittle, be gentle when disconnecting the old sensors. I'm a big guy and there is not a whole lot of room under my Amanti, consider jacking up one side of the car for more space. You can purchase sensors from either Amazon or ebay for much less than at your local dealership.

Which 02 sensor is sensor one on a 99 Saturn sl2?

There is a possibility of up to 4 oxygen sensors on a typical internal combustion engine. They are typically numbered according to their "bank", meaning which head they sense. Bank 1 is typically the same side as cylinder 1 on the engine. Sensor 1 is typically the sensor that is at the junction of the manifold and headpipe. Sensor 2 is the sensor that is behind the catalytic converter. Note that sensor 2 seldom fails. So... If you are being told that sensor 1 has failed, and it's a 4 cylinder, inline engine, you should examine the oxygen sensor that is at the base of the exhaust manifold, which, by the way, is the most frequent sensor to fail. You should plan to replace THOSE oxygen sensors every 50,000 to 60,000 miles as part of routine maintenance.

Could a bad exhaust leak where its dumping exhaust out of the manifold out to the alt cause an alternator to go bad?

Yes, those exhaust gases are extremely hot and can cause the alternator to overheat. Not only that but that carbon monoxide can enter the vehicle and kill you.

How do you know if the injectors not working on a f350?

Feel the exhaust manifold at each cylinder as it is running, if an injector isn't working the manifold at that cylinder exhaust port won't get hot. Some of those Ford diesels had a problem with the electrical connection where the injector harness passes through the valve covers.
