• When a couple in love are going together the first couple of years of marriage it's romantic, but then reality sets in and it's both people working; paying bills; trying to save for a house and generally the male spouse is trying to make something of himself out in the workforce and before a couple knows it they can be like two ships in the night passing each other; are tired and put their romantic relationship at the end of the list. It is quite normal and it takes good communication skills to sit down and discuss problems of any sort in the marriage. It may be a good idea if you both can afford it to take a romantic trip somewhere even if it for a long weekend or somewhere inexpensive. Just being alone and touching base sometimes makes life a little more exciting. A high percentage of couples get caught up in their daily lives with pressures such as the economy; loss of jobs, etc., and often they do love their spouse, but not wise enough to let their spouse know how they feel. Every so often it's nice just to welcome your spouse home (or he you) and put your arms around them; kiss them and tell them that you love that spouse. Take at least an half hour to an hour to sit down together and ask how each others day went or just talk about anything. A brochure does not come with marriage so it's a constant learning process for any couple.

Open communication is key in any relationship. Talk to your husband about how important it is for you to hear "I love you" from him regularly. Explain that while the physical aspect is important, emotional intimacy is equally important. Find ways to increase affection and express love outside of the bedroom to strengthen your overall connection.
