Zakat. This means 'charity' or 'giving'. Every year, Muslims give 2.5% of their income to charity, and because Zakat is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, it implies quite a lot to Muslims.

Of course. It is a must. Muslims will give 2.5 % of their extra money (wealth that they did not use for one whole year) to the poor - every year. Along with that, a Muslim is encouraged to give charity whenever they can.
The poor ones example zakkat is that u give charity to the poor people i hope that's a good answer :)
Muslim should; for example:give money to charity per Islam religion (Alms giving or Zakat in addition to Sadaka)give time to charity by helping the needy people and visiting old people who feel lonely or who are ill in hospitals.give knowledge to charity by learning people licit sciences and other physical sciences and reducing illiteracy.participating in social activities free of charge.Open to add more
Obviously you are a Muslim or you wouldn't have posted this. IMO, Muslims should certainly reach out to and give charity to non-Muslims. Is this not one of the Muslim prescripts as set forth in the Holy Q'uran? While it is Allah, who is the Benificent and Merciful ---- is it not the responsiblity of those who follow the teachings of Mohammed to give to those, who have not? There may not contain any Surahs in the Q'uran which dictate this --- but it most certainly would please Allah for those of you who have, to give to those who don't ---- regardless of "their" beliefs. Salam.
If it is a long term charity give something like 2 to 5 dollars a week or just 30 dollars for a short term charity
