What should a husband duties be if he stay at home and not work?

Duties?? This is something that should be discussed and negotiated between the husband and wife. Some stay at home moms have nannies and housekeepers. While others do all of the household chores, child care and cooking. When one person is away from the home and working all day, it only seems respectful that they come home to an orderly home. And, that conveniences are taken care of for them by the non-working party. However, each person should remain in charge of their own self. A stay at home wife should be helpful and keep the home in a way that she would if she were single. But, the husband should also behave in a way that he would if it were up to him to take care of himself.

However, if roles are not negotiated and understood by both parties, it will lead to resentment and possible break down in the relationship.

For instance, I enjoy keeping the house clean and taking care of my significant. However, I hate taking out the trash. Moreover, I hate having to point out that the trash needs taking out. That is actually a deal killer for me. This is something that was discussed and made known before we moved in together. As a result, he always make sure the trash is taken care of. He also puts his own dirty clothes away and vacuums when he has a day off.
