- It takes a bigger person to walk away from a fight. Often best friends get into arguments or even physical fights. Tell them you consider them your best friend and don't want to regret getting into a fight. If they call you names because they think you are weak then ignore it and stay clear of your best friend for a couple of weeks to let things cool off. If they are your best friend then they will be again and if they do not contact you again then you never really were best friends.
