No you cannot. Old motor oil contains harmful additives that can be released back into the atmosphere and can make you sick. Don't do it.
The best motor oil for you car depends on the car. Many old cars can only handle regular motor oil.
It should still be fine after three years, assuming its never been opened. Maybe shake it up just in case.

My guess would be that if has gotten moisture in it. Were the oil bottles sealed? Also how old if the oil?
The engine oil should be changed at least every 3,000 miles on a 1985 Toyota Tercel. An automobile this old should also have the oil and air filters changed at the same time for the motor to run move efficiently.
The oil drain plug is located on the lower left side of the motor just above the anti-cavitation plate. Remove the plug and be careful, cause the oil will pour out rapidly causing a mess if your not ready with a container to catch the oil. Once the oil is drained, install drain plug and remove the cover from the top of the motor. Remove the old oil filter, which is located on the right side of the motor. Install new oil filter and refill the crankcase with 5 quarts of new 10w-30 motor oil. The oil fill plug is the yellow plug located on the back side of the motor. Make sure the motor is level and check to make sure oil is at the proper level on the dip stick. Install the cover over the motor, lock it down, and you should be good to go until the next oil change is due.
Remove the oil drain plug from the oil pan to drain the oil from the motor. Some oil will remain in the old oil filter however.

jack up the front end of the car if you do not have a vehicle hoist, on the left side of the vehicle is the oil pan, there will be a 14mm bolt in this pan,unscrew this plug to drain oil the existing dirty oil, to the front of the oil pan on the bottom side of the motor in between the radiator and the motor is the oil filter, use a filter wrench to unscrew it and screw a new one back on but be sure to lubricate the rubber seal on the new filter and also check and make sure the old rubber seal is still on the old oil filter. once done put the oil drain plug back in and lower car down, throught the oil filler cap pour in 4.2 liters of 5W30 and re-install oil cap. run motor for 1 minute and check level with dipstick
