An open jar of strawberry preserves with yeast? And you even considered keeping it? Especially once a bacterial or yeast (or any type of growth) appears on a food product (there are exceptions of course, cheese is one of them), it is usually best to dispose of it. you might think using an implement to 'dig' out the culture and the remaining product still be good and thus consumable, but consider this. Before a physical appearance of growth appears on the item in question, it is already there in a micro (unseen) stage. A surface appearance may well be due to its proximity to air for oxidation, but how deep the 'growth' has gone is not apparent. Also, in an attempt to use an implement to remove the growth, the implement may well be contaminated and as you dig down to remove an undesirable portion, then actually contaminate the food product you intend to rescue. That is in my opinion of course
Strawberry shortcake can be made successfully using strawberry preserves. However, for the best results to be achieved, a recipe that specifically calls for strawberry preserves should be used. To use strawberry preserves in when a recipe calls for fresh strawberries or strawberry jam might yield less than desired results.
No, you do not need to refrigerate preserves after opening, but some brands recommend it. However, the high amounts of sugar act as preservatives to help the food last.
No, they should not be refrigerated.

Yes
No - unless the label states "keep refrigerated" which should mean that it was in the refrigerated case when you purchased it.
Yes anything with dairy in it should be refrigerated.
Because it contains REAL STRAWBERRIES, not imitation flavor. Therefore, it must be refrigerated after opening to preserve freshness. Also, because there is real fruit and fruit juice, it should be thrown out after a couple weeks, or becomes very thick, dark colored or appears caramel'ish in consistency. If left out, the fruit will spoil within it.
Yes. Homemade marinade should be refrigerated, and purchased marinade should be refrigerated after opening.
