You can major in anything you want. Many tend to major in science because it will be easier to transition, but I have met Doctor Who was an Art major in college. You do need to take certain core courses like Biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, biochemistry to apply to medical schools. Also, the MCAT, the medical college admission test, is mainly in science. So, as long has you have the basic courses above, you can major in whatever you want.
