I say that you just be your own person!Don't bother to care about what other people think.Be your self.If you like your new style then keep it!Don't go by other people's perspective.If they really are your friends,it shouldn't matter if you change the way you look,they should like you for who you are.You are still the same person.Just because you change the way you look,it shouldn't matter of what other people think.Just as long as you like it.But if they don't,maybe you should talk to them and tell them that you are still the same person,and you are not going to change your style because they want you to,as long as you are happy,they should be to,no matter what you look like.

I would like to tell you that friends who leave you just because your style changes, couldn't be friends at all. But I'm also going to give the realistic answer: Try not to go overboard on the scene-kid style. Mix in more mainstream pieces of clothing with the ones you are now wearing. Also, slowly edge your way into the style of being a scene kid. Don't just go from preppy to dying your hair, loki dokie and rimmed glasses. Slowly change your style from what you are wearing now, to what you want to look like. This way, your friends will be less surprised and/or offended by the immediate change.
