10 lbs. of oil pressure at an idle is not uncommon for a 350 if the idle is low . what does it do at 30 mph. or more ? that is where you should be concerned. if the pressure is around 40-50 lbs. at 50 mph. it's ok.
Low oil pressure or fluctuating oil pressure.
No, that's not normal. And if you plan to keep it for a long time, it would be a good idea to investigate the cause of the low oil pressure. that oil pressure isn't real bad, but it is a little low, what is it at 50 mph, does it rise.? it should be around 35 to 50 lbs. at 50 mph. it may improve as the engine wears in.
the weight of oil that is in the motor...10w-30 is more than enough, if the oil was changed and say 20w-50 oil was put in then your oil pressure is going to be higher...the oil is thicker or heavier
The oil pressure gauge is going to fluctuate on a Toyota Tacoma or any automobile. The oil pressure is less when the auto is idling and more when the auto is going down the road.
because you are going over 70. High rpm will give higher oil pressure.
Low of the proper amount of oil. Oil pump is defective. Oil pressure sending unit it defective. Gauge, if equipped, is defective.
Oil pressure should be 40 to 50 psi
the pressure
If your oil pressure light comes on when the temperature shows high and pressure shows low, may be partly due to too thin oil. If you are using 5W-30 change to 10W-40 during warm weather, the light will not come on with the high oil temperature.
The oil pressure switch is located on the oil filter adapter. Find the oil filter and you should see the oil pressure switch.
Oil pressure varies but should normally be around 40psi
