Good levels for an 8 year old depends on the subject matter. An 8 year old should be able to solve some problems and be able to read fluently and understand what they are reading.
A year eight child should be between a level 3 and level five, unless of course the year 8 student is fluent in French. :)
average 5b, good 6c, top set 6a source Year 8 student level 5a

pet should get for a 8 year old?
The curriculum levels for a year eight range vastly. For example, some year eights get level fours and very few get level eights. But really, a year 8 child should be aiming for these levels (minimum) as this is what the government expects from year 8s:Maths: 5b/5aEnglish: 5b/5aScience: 5b/5aGeography: 5b/5aHistory:5b/5aRE:5bPE: 4a/5cICT: 5cDT: 5cFT: 5cArt: 5cMany kids in year eight attain much higher than these levels though and some people even attain level sevens and eights. It's nice to know the government has faith in year eight students, isn't it?Hope this helps!
