leave the key in the ignition over night key should reprogram
I would have the ignition itself replaced. These go out all the time and will leave you stranded. Get a new ignition keyed to your current key and you won't have to do programming. A locksmith can do this for you. Do it soon though before it stops turning.
There should be a lock on the ignition a push button that you push and turn to remove the key
the only way to start a car when the remote key is dead is to start it by putting the key into the ignition.
Yes
Try putting lubricant on the key or in the ignition or both. It worked for mine.
Well, I don't see that it would help it any! There are 2 keys for a reason! Why would you want to insert the door key in the ignition? It surely won't start the vehicle! Unless the ignition is already screwed up and can start with anything! The tumblers in the the locks for the ignition and doors are different! It would be like putting your house key in the car! Won't work!
The ignition switch should be separate from the ignition key/lock assembly, so I'll say no.
Unlocking the door and putting the key in the ignition should reset the alarm.
Try putting the key in the ignition and taking out quickly, and or lubricate the ignition lock mechanism. it worked for me.
Your problem is the chip in the key or the ignition. Try your other key before doing anything else.
Your ignition also locks your steering and at times you need to move the steering wheel a little and at the same turn your ignition key. Then you should be able to turn the key and start the engine. Hal
