If he wants to hold your hand, he probably has feelings for you, so be easy on him. You don't have to sit there in a position you are not comfortable with either. If he is already holding your hand, let go easy. You can pat his hand and smile so he knows you aren't mad or anything. Any relationship, friendship, dating, or even married, it is very important to be honest. After you move your hand, let him know that you aren't ready for or don't want that. Try to be honest without being brutal. It will probably sting him a little, but it will be better to tell him from the beginning.
