I believe there are 4 things you can do before the visitor reaches a distance where they can read the screen.
1. hide the window (or all the windows) with confidential information.
2. activate the screen saver or block the screen (CTRL-ALT-DEL for Windows).
3. Turn off the monitor(s), this is usually a one button press.
4. if you can't do any of those quickly, turn the screen away from the visitor.
Don't make a big deal out of it. It should be just part of what you do as a competent employee.
Remember to block your computer if you are going to step away from your desk.

But due to the fact you may be referring to a computer field on a website or program, yes that can also be considered an entity. Think of it as the fact that it is displayed on your monitor screen and is being projected from a computer, makes it exist nonetheless.
