If you can, sit down but keep your back straight (this lets your lungs expand more). Also, if it's bad enough to a point you can't stand, lie down but DO NOT lie on your back. Your lungs have to work twice as hard then and it will just make the situation harder to get over.crouching the body..and breathing from nose and exhling from the mouth.maintain the relaxed position for 15 min..it should settle down ,if doesnt settle refer to specialist doctor.
