- Especially younger people will have several boyfriends or if male, several girlfriends as that is part of growing up. When you steady date and have a boyfriend you should always be honest in the relationship. If you feel you like this new person then tell your boyfriend and break up. Your boyfriend may be hurt, but it is unfair to see another young man behind his back. Whenever in doubt ask yourself how you would feel if he did what you are doing!
