You could burn the photos to a disc, or copy them to an external drive such as a USB drive or an external hard drive, and then delete the photos from your computer.
And if your computer is still slow, you can use a tool like CCleaner to help clean up your computer and make it faster. It seems unlikely that too many photos would slow down your computer unless they took up all the hard drive space, check for malware/viruses.
