Depends on what you mean by having their claw "loose". If it's hanging on on the very back, where it connects to the fur and skin, then he/she could just be shedding the claw. This happens frequently, especially if the claw gets too long. If it's not doing that, then maybe you should take it to the vet for further information. It could be ingrown, which has the potential to be painful for the dog. If that's the problem, you'll have to clip it off.
