Fungus/infection is your worst enemy when a fish has a cut. Make sure the water that the fish is in is clean and regularly changed. I would get a fungus preventative (available at most good pet shops) and follow the directions on the bottle/packet.
You can buy medicine to add to the water at most pet stores and all aquarium stores.
thank you SOOO much! hopefully i can get some in time to help Oblivious (my goldfish) -Stargazer I have a question related to this one: What are the signs of Ick?
Send it down the toilet... its got no chance of surviving
It is just a melanin imbalance nothing is going to happen to the fish it is harmless it is a lack of the pigment (color) in the fish's skin
they might get the "ICK" or they can get sick from there bowl or tank not being clean
Probably "ick". It needs to be treated.
Go to a pet shop and get the medication for it.If you have any other fish in your tank/bowl take them out because it will spread. It is an infection. My goldfish died from "ick" so you'd better hurry to get the medication.
If your goldfish has Ick you will need to treat its water with some commercial cure. Just follow the directions. Before you do the treatment though, may I suggest you do a large water change, keep the filter ON all through the treatment and follow the instructions to the letter. Ick/Ich/white spot is a killer parasite and has to be fixed quickly before it kills every fish in the tank.
I used to have fish and I think that's called Ich (pronounced ick). It can be treated with a medication available at the pet store.
If they are little white bumps just on the gills, then you have a male goldfish that is ready to breed. If the white dots cover its body then your fish is sick with ick, and you will need to go to the petstore to get meds. for the fish.
I wouldn't think so since ick is a scale sickness and you don't have scales. My fish once had ick (their better now) and I didn't get sick with ick. but maybe you should ask an employee at a pet store.
ick clear or algae clear
Don't take a goldfish out of water.
You should not feed goldfish soup.
Visible tiny white spots anywhere on the fishes body are indicators of white spot. (Ich)They can often be seen scratching themselves against the gravel and other things in the tank. During spring however, the males develop white spots on their gills and pectoral fins so don't mistake them for disease.
Speh-sif-ick Spuh-sif-ick Spih-sif-ick Like tomato and potato- they can be pronounced different ways.
