It depends on the situation and what you are asked to do. However, the best way to handle this would be to confront your boss (or whoever told you to do the task) and explain to them, calmly and with respect, that you don't fully agree with what they are asking of you.

It depends on the severity of the situation. You two are adults try to meet each other in middle. Arguing is never good because neither of you would back down, and even if one of you did, at the end of the day you would still stand for what you were arguing for.
