Answer 1) Whenever a dog jumps on the guest, put him/her in it's cage or lock them out of the room. Then, about 10 min later, bring them back into the room where your guest is and repeat the process. Hopefully your dog will understand that jumping on guests=cage, and they wont do it anymore. Be patient! Some dogs take more time to learn than others! It worked on my dog, hope it works on yours!
Answer 2) If your dog jumps up on you, simply pick up your knee (for large dogs) or your toes on smaller dogs so that it pushed on their chest and makes it feel as if they want to fall over. Do not look them in the eye when you do this and do not talk to them. Do not hurt the dog though but do it firmly enough to deter this behaviour. If your dog does not jump up on you and only on your guests, invite him to jump up on you then try it. Repeat it until he stops. You can also get someone else like a friend or family member to do this. You can teach the dog not to jump up in a matter of minutes.
Put an electric......something on top of it.
It sounds lik your dog is excited or nervous. The dog might grow out of this. If the dog does not, try feeding the dog treats when guests arrive to teach the dog guests arriving is a good thing. If your dog continues to have this problem, seek a nearby professional trainer.
If your dog tries to jump up, place them back on the floor. You can also use a knee to block them or you can turn your back on them.
knee the dog in the chest when it jumps. or spray/mist water in its face. anything that it will associate jumping and painful experience with.
If a dog was allowed on furniture as a puppy, the harder it will be to stop this behavior. The dog will have to be leashed inside the home until any attempts to climb up have been removed. As the dog approaches a chair, bed or other furniture, gently tug on the leash BEFORE the dog reaches its destination and say a firm "no". If it knows "no" to other things, it should not take too long before the dog makes the association.
you train your dog you are also supposed to put your knee up so they will stay down
You need to build the gate higher. The dog could injure itself or cause an accident.
You should pick up the other dog poo so the other dog can stop eating it
Use a stern "no" and spray it with a water bottle or shake a can containing beads that makes loud noise in it's face. The dog will get the message.
You can get the male dog neutered, this should stop him from urinating in the house as much as he did.
