Get it replaced with a new cable. Get a repair man to do it, especially if it's a cable going into the tv set. TVs can be dangerous to open, even when unplugged, as they can hold a large charge.
If money isn't a big factor in your decision, you should get cable. It generally more reliable than satellite.
