You need to try to control yourself and also find a way to reduce your energy through sports. Talk to your guidance counselor. Be aware that if you carry out your impulses, the results may not be undone.

The fact you are asking is a good start. It shows you already know that you shouldn't just go around blowing up, and it shows that you want to learn to cope.

There will be times in your life even after school that you kind of want to punch someone. Sometimes, your patience can really be stretched to its limits. You have to recognize that your temper is getting the best of you, and try to take it down a notch.

Try asking the teacher if you can just move on or come back to whatever is happening after you have had some time.

Try to recognize that you are probably reacting emotionally to whatever the situation is. Remember you are going to be suspended, and maybe even arrested if you put hands on your teacher. Keep in mind this is going to be a hardship on both you AND your parents.

If you can't bring it down... If you really just cannot cool off... If they are just egging you on... If you just cannot find your calm...

If you really feel like you cannot maintain enough self control to keep from acting out physically, you need to remove yourself from the situation. If you cannot get permission to leave, sometimes you might need to anyway. The trouble you will get into for going to the bathroom without permission will be less than the trouble you will get into for hitting someone.

Head to the bathroom, splash some water on your face, take a few breaths, and try to think about it from an entirely factual point of view. Try to look at the logic, and not the fairness, the emotion, or other parts of it that will just keep you fuming. Don't punch the wall, kick the stall, or anything else that is feeding into anger. Pull your crap together. It's hard sometimes, but you can totally do it.

If possible, call your dad, mom, favorite aunt, or another adult that will talk to you and give you solid advice. Sometimes, just a familiar concerned voice is enough to ground you.

When you are cooled down, you can go back. They may send you to the principal for walking out. It is what it is. Just remember it is still less trouble than hitting them. There are often consequences, even for taking the better choice.

Keep in mind, whatever led up to this probably isn't just going to go away. At some point, you have to deal with it. You can't just get mad and make it go away. If you feel like you might have over-reacted, go apologize for that part. Tell them you are sorry you didn't handle it better, even if you don't necessarily apologize for the entire thing. It might help smooth things over enough that you can go back and finish the conversation without it being so volatile.

After this is over, it's time to sit down and self-evaluate. What caused you to get to that point? It's easy to blame it on the teacher, and they very well could have been trying to provoke you. People will do that, teacher or not. You have to look at yourself to see how you allowed them to get to you like that. How did you allow them to make you that angry? Is this something that happens often?

There are often things that can make situations worse. You have heard the term hangry? Even though it sounds like a candy bar commercial, not eating can often make you get angry faster. You may not even feel all that hungry, but you may need to eat a little snack before that class, or maybe even a more solid breakfast.

Do you have coping mechanisms, or do you just bottle stress up and keep going? If you are hanging onto tension, this teacher might just be your trigger. You could be anxious or mad about totally unrelated things, but because they annoy you, they are what sets you off about it all. Try to find some ways to burn some of that off. Try some sports, some video game time, some quiet time with a book, or running. You need time to clear your head. Physical activities also release chemicals in your body that have a positive impact on your mood.

Find something that you can divert part of your attention to when you are in a confrontation. Hold one of your fingers with your other hand, and concentrate on the pressure. You don't have to squeeze it purple or anything. Just concentrate on holding the position. You can still listen to what they are saying, but you have something less internal to focus on, besides anger. There are other ways you can do this as well. Try a few different things, and find something that doesn't look too attention getting by others, but that you are still comfortable with.

If you realize you are blowing up more than those around you seem to be, you might want to talk to someone. A counselor, in or out of school, might be able to help you point out what is going on. If it keeps happening, you might want to check with your doctor as well. Sometimes body chemicals might be out of balance, and that is something they can work with you on.

Keep thinking on it. You will probably start to figure a good deal of it out on your own as well.
