Clearly, the Union states had a superior advantage in manufacturing capability and iron ore production.Prior to the US Civil War, the South did not need industry as it was a basically agricultural economy. This became a problem for the South as the war wore on.
Production of iron was a primary occupation since it proved quite profitable. Many industries that were developing at that time required the use of iron products. This made iron production a lucrative venture.
Improvements in iron and steel production
The industrial revolution of the 18th century was when manufacturing went from hand production to machine production and conditions were improved for the workers. Some innovations included mechanical spinning wheels, the ability to roll iron rather than hand hammer the iron, and using steam to power machines.
The iron plow allowed people to plow land more effectively and quickly allowing for greater food production. Which in turn allowed for growth in the human population. And, it increased the amount of land that people were able to plow in a single day significantly.
The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in Europe and the United States, in the period from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840. This transition included going from hand production methods to machines, new chemical manufacturing and iron production processes, the increasing use of steam power and water power, the development of machine tools and the rise of the mechanized factory system. The Industrial Revolution also led to an unprecedented rise in the rate of population growth.
The Union
The Union
the union didThe Union had better manufacturing, hands down.
As the US Civil began and during it as well, the Union had a much larger industrial and manufacturing base then did the South. The North had access to mining iron ore and had protected ports in which warships could be built with safety.
it was supposed to restrict iron manufacturing in British colonies (mostly the American Colonies) and bring back production in England.
because it provided the royalists with iron for manufacturing guns
The Production Budget for The Iron Giant was $50,000,000.
The Production Budget for The Iron Lady was $14,000,000.
The Production Budget for Iron Man was $186,000,000.
Iron has a greater density.
The Production Budget for The Man with the Iron Fists was $15,000,000.
The Production Budget for The Man in the Iron Mask was $35,000,000.
