According to the 1996 Ford F-250 owners manual it came from the factory with
either the Motorcraft BXT-65-650 battery or the optional BXT-65-850 battery
( that's BCI group size 65 and either 650 or 850 cold cranking amps )
that's for the 5.8 liter / 351 cubic inch V8 engine , I would go with the 850

booster has nothing to do with starter. but you might try boosting battery with jumper cables . if this works it means the battery does not have enuff cranking amps when engine is hot, and you would need to replace battery
