it also has the stock pulleys and everything just want to bypass the ac and smog pump thanks
The 2003 Ford Mustang does no have a timing belt, it has a chain which requires no maintenance. Replace the water pump when it starts leaking. It should last 100,000 miles or more.
Drain the radiator. Remove the drive belt. unbolt the pump and remove it. Replace the pump and the o ring that seals it.
need to specify whcih one
Yes. Right below the alternator. The pump will also be belt driven. The fluid is located in the pump.
74"
No choke ,no accelarater pump.
NO
Depends on how you ran the belt. On a V belt, looking at the front of the motor, the water pump would be turning clockwise. If on the serpentine you ran under the water pumppully and are running on the back side of the belt as some do, then the pump would be turning counter clockwise and yes, running backwards.
You can drive for awhile without the alternator or power steering working but without the water pump working you won't get far without doing serious damage to the engine. So if that serp belt drives the water pump the answer is no.
You need to remove the timing belt before you even will able to access it. Thus, use the procedure how to change the timing belt, but without changing part. Replace the water pump, make sure that you replace the water pump gasket too.
Obviously, there is the pump and hoses with the belt/pulley combination and pump bracket. Underneath, you need a p/s center link, idler arm, cylinder ram with frame mounting bracket, control valve assembly and the usual hose brackets, boot, etc.
no :)
