I just measured all the way around the band track with string. The smallest length appears to be 144cm or 58 inches. A blade 1/4 inch thick won't fit the track, but a 3/8 one might. Does this help at all?

The wheels on a band saw are used to drive the blade and keep it aligned.

Are you referring to the San Francisco Bay Area band that released two albums on Metal blade in the early 90's or the band that released one album on Elektra?
A large blade is rotating in a downward direction creating an obvious danger area if hands or parts of clothing get too close and are picked up by the blade.
A saw is used to cut things. It can be hand powered or electric. It can be hand held or a stationary machine tool. It may have a straight steel blade or a round steel blade, it may have a loop blade like a band saw.

I used to work in a competitive shop where if you knew things the other guys didn't it was job security. They were constantly breaking band saw blades. Mine never broke. The blades have to be annealed after welding then again after grinding. That's the whole trick right there. Set the welder for anneal then push the anneal button until the instant it turns red, then push the button in and out several times to allow the blade to cool slower. You shouldn't have any more trouble. Lightnin
