You need a cherry picker with a leveler bar to be able to take the engine and tranny out in one piece.
You need to pull the engine, 6-8 hours, need a cherry picker to lift engine. Need to disconnect several parts (oem sway bars may need to be replaced because they often crack)
u need to support the engine with a cherry picker and then remove the long motor mount bolts. after u have done that remove the engine mount brackets from the engine. then lower the engine down on to the front axle. this will give u plenty of room to reach over the head and remove the bell housing bolts. there are usually only two not three and sometimes they require a torx socket.
disconnect battery, fuel lines, and harness from upper engine. disconnect the exhaust flange nuts to remove exuast pipe from manifold remove any and all brackets attached to head that will prevent it from coming apart from the engine. remove valve cover and remove rocker arms and push rods. remove head bolts and separate from engine. The head is heavy especially with the intake and exhaust manifold bolted to it. I would recommend bolting a chain to the front and back of head and use a cherry picker to get it out or if u dont a cherry picker have someone help you cause it is pretty heavy.
book time depends on year make and model... couple of fords require a 1/2 to 1" engine lift to get the manifold off, meaning u need a cherry picker and remove mounting bolts before even getting to manifold
This is not for the faint of heart. You need to undo the engine and transaxle mounts, and hang the engine with a cherry picker. Then, you need to locate and pull all of the bolts for the cradle (frame) so the you can drop the frame out of the way. Or you can let a mechanic do it. haha.
1. get a manual because you will need it. 2. disconnect the battery. 3. disconnect the fuel lines. 4. disconnect the cooling system. 5. remove the exhaust system (makes more room and things more accessible.) 6. locate motor and transmission mounts. 7. remove the intake system so that you can bolt the cherry picker to the maniford. 8. take photos of things so you have a real life example of the way that things were under YOUR hood.

You have to pull the engine and tranny out, separate the two, and do the clutch work. With a cherry picker or another way to lift the eng/tran it's really not that bad of a job. All of the electrical connectors will only mate up with the right counterpart, and all of the mechanical dissconnects are pretty easy. You will need ramps or GOOD solid jack stands to get to the motor mount electrical and other things you need to remove underneath before lifting the eng/tran out.
To change the clutch you need to remove the engine, the transmission or both. The clutch is BEWEEN the engine and transmission and you can't get it off without separating them.
There are different reasons to remove an engine. The engine may be using oil or the old engine may be locked up and the car needs a new engine. In such a situation, one will need detailed instructions to remove a Peugeot Expert Engine.
generally to remove a broken bolt, you will need a drill and an easy out
