Pints, quarts, half gallons, gallons and several odd sizes in between. Cartons can be customized to a variety of sizes and there are no mandatory pre sets.
The most common in todays market are between 1.5 quarts and 2 quarts (half gallon). In the past the most common carton size was 2 quarts (half gallon). Most companies have begun to shrink from this size and are now in the 1.5 to 1.9 quart range for their carton sizes.
Ice cream sizes above and below the most common 1.5 to 1.9 carton sizes are typically sold in lidded cups or tubs (for smaller) or buckets (for a gallon or more) though cartons in the other sizes do exist in some regions.
