It kind of looks like a cell, with the yolk as a nucleus, but eggs, including ostrich eggs, are just growth chambers for the tiny embryo within. The embryo, being a living thing, is comprised of cells, but not the yolk which feeds the embryo or the white which cushions and hydrates the embryo. As the embryo grows the cells divide so the embryo contains more and more cells. The embryo uses the supplies inside the egg to create new cells as it grows into a chick.
impossiable. it is made up of million of cells
This is a common myth. An unfertilized ostrich egg contains a tiny egg cell, surrounded by supportive materials such as albumin, yolk and shell. Those supportive materials are not part of the ovum. It is erroneous to think of an entire ostrich egg (or chicken egg, or snake egg, etc) as a cell. The cell part itself is tiny. If fertilization happens (it happens inside bird's body) sperm fuses with ovum and a zygote (a tiny single cell) emerges and enclosed within bird's egg . cell division occurs only after egg has been laid.
