Mr ben
counter clockwise.
Lefty=loosey, righty=tighty.
Most crankshaft pully bolts on European engines turn anti clockwise to undo them.
It Turns Counterclockwise
The crankshaft positioning sensor is located on the bottom of the plastic timing chain cover, right behind the crank shaft pully. It is held in place by a metal clip with a single 10mm bolt.
if the engine is an izuzu then the crankshaft pully must be aligned to tdc mark the injection pump and camshaft must be locked by screwing a bolt through a hole in the pully and into the backplate a 10/11mm and a 13mm bolt will be required. the crank pully may have to be fitted to find the tdc mark. I have watched this being done. I would answer the question "With Difficulty, even if you know what you are doing!"
The easiest thing to do is use and impact gun if you have the space (and the tools). That should break it loose without having to hold the pulley. There is also a tool that plugs into the bell housing with a tooth that catches the fly wheel If you don't have an impact wrench or the above mentioned tool, a method I have used is to take nylon rope and loop it around the crankshaft pully in a way so that it cinches tighter when it is pulled on. Then I tie the end of the rope to anything solid nearby. When you crank on the bolt with a breaker bar, it tightens the rope, holding the pully in place.
which direction does a crank shaft pully bolt screw out on a 2002 honda accord lx 2.3l eng. clockwise or counterclockwise?
first you should release the belt tension pully and remove the belt. Then the idler pully has a bolt through the center remove the bolt and the pully should come off.
The crankshaft itself will turn the opposite way to the bolt.
In middle of crankshaft pulley
the harmonic balancer is the crankshaft pulley approx6 or 7 inch diameter lower pully center of engine the serp belt is driven by power pulley also have a retaining bolt in center
